These were taken at the San Diego Zoo. I like to think that the Panda is waving to the camera, just for me. As for the Lion, the reason I really like that shot is because it was through a chain link fence, and for the most part, you can’t tell that it was thanks to the depth of field.
The Steele Canyon golf course in San Diego winds around an old-style ranch. We came across these friendly donkeys just before the 18th hole.
If I knew anything about flowers I’m sure I’d be able to tell you what kind these are, but I don’t, so I can’t. I just thought they looked nice, so here they are.
I was busy packing up the car for our drive home from the lake when I came upon this chipmunk. He was busy collecting various items off the ground and didn’t appear to notice me. I had my camera bag slung over my shoulder but I figured I’d scare the little guy off when I started pulling my camera out. Fortunately he didn’t seem to care. I was able to sit down on the ground, pull my camera out, and start snapping shots off and he just continued on his merry own way. Several times he came within a few inches from my lens.
This was shot at Fort Whyte Alive. I was snapping some random pictures of flowers when I noticed the bee buzzing around this particular flower.
The original image as captured by my camera turned out fairly well, but after some tonal adjustments in Lightroom the colours really came out. I’m quite happy with this picture.
